Itachi loved Kisame ever since he first saw him. He, of course, never told Kisame that. When he first came to Akatsuki he was only thirteen years old, and it was love at first site. Itachi never told him that he loved him because he was afraid of rejection.

‘He’ll never love me’

“Itachi-san. We’re here,” Kisame said snapping Itachi out of his daydreaming.

He was right to. They were in front of the Akatsuki headquarters. Kisame pushed the door open and walked in. Itachi followed in suit. They both reported to the leader before going to their room. Itachi showered first, as he always did. He can out wearing only a towel. Kisame went in after him, not even sparing him a glance. When Itachi heard the door close he frowned.

‘I knew it he’d never love another man’

Itachi processed with getting redressed. When he was in his pajamas he crawled into bed. He got so absorbed in his own thoughts he didn’t even notice the bathroom door open. He also did hear footsteps coming closer to his bed. It wasn’t until he felt lip against his forehead that Itachi even realized what was happening.

“Happy birthday, Itachi-san.”
